Nestled in the heart of Studio City, Casa Mallorca is a masterful expression of architecture grounded in natural materials and refined craftsmanship. Designed and developed by Studio Rob Diaz, the home embodies warmth, simplicity, and connection—its forms inspired by the serene villas of Mallorca and the sunlit textures of the Gold Coast of Australia.
For MADERA, this project marked another evolution in its long-standing collaboration with Studio Rob Diaz. Together, the teams explored the potential of Seamless Wood Design, adapting the system to meet the home’s distinct architectural rhythm and bespoke details. The result is a space where every surface, transition, and material relationship feels intentional and whole.
At the heart of Casa Mallorca lies a dialogue between material and light. MADERA’s European Oak in the Mallorca 502 finish was chosen for its natural oil treatment and soft brushed texture, bringing both purity and character to the space. The oak’s tone—calm, warm, and timeless—anchors the home’s palette of earth-toned plaster, limestone, and clay.
The flooring runs seamlessly through the living areas and continues up the sculptural staircase, where a solid oak banister curves with quiet precision. In the kitchen, the same wood defines custom cabinetry, integrated pulls, and cascading stair treads, each crafted to reflect the home’s architectural order. This continuity, achieved through MADERA’s Seamless Wood Design system, ensures every element—from floorboards to furniture panels—exists in material harmony.

Casa Mallorca’s design demanded an uncommon level of customization. The variety of wood applications, from wide-plank flooring to cabinetry and built-in stair elements, required an adaptable system capable of maintaining uniformity without rigidity. MADERA’s Seamless Wood Design system provided the foundation for that flexibility, allowing for multiple uses of the same material while preserving a unified aesthetic language.
Rob Diaz shared, “The Casa Mallorca cabinet panels, solid wood pulls, and cascading staircase treads and risers truly brought our vision to life. The cabinet panels, with their subtle brushed texture and consistent grain, are simply the best we have ever worked with.”
Each component was crafted to millimeter precision, ensuring alignment in color and texture across varying substrates. This adaptability is what defines MADERA’s system—an approach that allows design expression and craftsmanship to coexist effortlessly.

Every MADERA project with Studio Rob Diaz reflects shared values of honesty, quality, and timeless design. For Casa Mallorca, that partnership meant approaching each challenge with intention and care. The custom sizing, joinery, and natural finish details required constant dialogue between designer and maker.
Reflecting on the process, Diaz noted, “Working with MADERA always enhances the expression of our homes. We truly value our partnership and look forward to many more projects together, including two exciting ones already in the works.”
It is through this collaborative rigor that Casa Mallorca achieves its quiet power—a home where material precision becomes the architecture itself.

Inside the home, the material story unfolds with restraint. Clayworks plaster walls provide a tactile counterpoint to the oak surfaces, while soft light filters through large windows to reveal subtle shifts in tone and texture. In the living room, limestone and timber frame a central fireplace, establishing a visual rhythm echoed throughout the house.
Every element, from sculptural lighting to custom joinery, is chosen to complement the architecture rather than compete with it. In more intimate rooms, deeper hues and varied finishes introduce a sense of depth and intimacy, yet the wood’s tone remains constant—uniting the entire home through a shared material dialogue.

Through collaboration with Studio Rob Diaz, MADERA brought coherence to an architecture defined by texture, restraint, and light.
The result is a home that feels at once crafted and effortless, where every detail speaks the same quiet language of natural beauty and enduring design.
