On a warm April evening at MADERA's New York City showroom, we hosted a lively event and discussion featuring MADERA co-founder James Robb, Workshop APD's founding principal Matt Berman alongside associate principal Andrew Kline. The conversation was moderated by Nick Schiffer of NS Builders. The group engaged in a conversation revolving around ideas of conscious craftsmanship and the use of natural materials in contemporary design.

This panel discussion was complemented by a vibrant happy hour, drawing experts from the wood, architecture, and design spheres, as well as inquisitive minds from diverse industries. The speakers delved into the nuances of materiality, exploring the convergence of natural elements with constructed environments, and the art of captivating design across all scales.

A prevailing theme emerged: Seamless Wood Design – the art of employing a single, responsibly sourced wood species to harmonize a space by crafting the majority of its products and surfaces from this material. This concept epitomizes MADERA's ethos. Our deep respect for wood as a foundational material propels us to push boundaries, uncovering the boundless versatility of wood – Yet, in our journey, we acknowledge that we have merely scratched the surface and thus aspire to become a beacon of excellence in wood utilization.
